CPW-Fed Concentric Dual-Ring Antenna for Real-Time Label-Free Glucose Sensing

This paper presents a real-time label-free glucose sensor design implemented with a concentric dual-ring antenna. The working principle, sensor design, fabrication details, experimental setup and sensitivity of the concentric dual-ring antenna as a sensor are presented. The experimentally determined RF parameters concerning the SUT solution for the sensor exhibited a change in S11 resonant frequency from 2.01 to 2.11 GHz, with varied glucose concentrations with an interval of 0.05 g/mL for a range of 0.05–0.2 g/mL. The result, with a sensitivity of 400 MHz/g/mL and linear coefficient of 0.928 shows that the sensor has various potential applications and can be used for efficient glucose monitoring.
