Every cell, from the nucleus to the mitochondria, contributes to vital activities like energy and communication. The nucleus stores DNA, which contains genetic instructions and is essential for regulating cellular activity and features. When mutations develop in DNA, it can result in malfunction of the cell cycle, which is responsible for controlling division and renewal, ending in uncontrolled growth and cancer. This chapter emphasizes how disturbances in cellular communication and energy balance, often associated with mitochondria and plasma membranes, can trigger tumorsTumor.
