The last decade has witnessed increasing interest in integrating language technologies into English education in Saudi Arabia. This chapter seeks to provide a review of the empirical research on language technologies and English learning conducted in Saudi Arabia. The chapter starts with an overview of the language technologies used in the Saudi context. This is followed by a summary of how the relevant Saudi literature has integrated language technologies across educational domains (formal learning, informal learning, assessment) and language skills. The chapter concludes with a discussion of three emerging themes from the previous studies (the perception, impact, and challenge of technologies) as well as suggestions for future directions.
