Resilience Analysis of Naval Vessels with i2SIM
摘要
Naval vessels are complex systems operating under stress and critical conditions. The interdependencies among the ship systems make the optimal paths to repair to be not obvious. The Infrastructures Interdependencies Simulator (i2SIM) is used to evaluate the resilience of naval vessels during mission-critical operations when faults occur in their electrical system. Through modelling the interdependencies, i2SIM finds the optimum restoration pathway that will bring back as much of the vessel’s functionality as possible as fast as possible, therefore enhancing the ship’s resilience. This paper presents a systematic methodology to set up the i2SIM model of a ship. Use cases are presented comparing response pathways without and with i2SIM.
