Design of an All-Terrain Unmanned Tracking Model Vehicle

The aim of this paper is to design an all-terrain unmanned tracking model vehicle to explore its transport and travelling capabilities on complex road conditions. The model vehicle, with STM32 microcontroller as the main control board, adopts a suspended six-wheeled body structure, equipped with lug-nut wheels and six independently powered direct current (DC) motors to ensure its driving function. In addition, it is equipped with a steep hill-climbing aid to make it more stable when climbing steep gradients. Two 360° rotating circumferential rudders and gyroscopes are used to realize cargo transport and maintain body stability. Eight infrared sensors are also provided to ensure stable tracking and correct turning of the model vehicle. Finally, the test results show that the design scheme has the characteristics of high reliability and stability, and can achieve effective transport and travelling functions on complex road conditions.
