Climate change has long lasting and potentially very lasting damaging consequences on the environment, composed of humanity, animals and plants, and, other soil biota. In short, it will gravely affect the agriculture sector, consequently food security. Adoption of climate smart agriculture has thus become inevitable in order to build resilience in the agriculture systems which will help cope up with climate change. With a view to implementing climate smart agricultural practices to ensure climate resilience, certain broad strategies have to be adopted. The CRA approach is designed to identify and operationalize sustainable agricultural development within the explicit parameters of climate change (Climate Smart Agriculture Source Book,). It integrates the three dimensions of sustainable development (economic, social and environmental), by jointly addressing global food security and climate challenges.
