Agriculture and Food Security: Food security refers to a situation when people gain physical access to sufficient food to meet the dietary requirements on a daily basis. A household can have food security when all the members lead a hunger fee life. India has been unable to achieve this target, despite the much talked about “green revolution”. It is estimated that nearly 800 million persons go to be bed each day with a hungry stomach in the world. Food security exists when everyone in the world, at all times, has physical and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food which meets their dietary needs on a daily basis and food preferences for an active and healthy life.
