Using Current Data and Research to Drive Decision-Making
摘要
Preoperative optimization strategies play a crucial role in addressing the unique set of challenges associated with revision total hip arthroplasty (THA) and improving the success of revision surgery. Medical interventions can be employed in the preoperative period, intraoperatively, and postoperatively when managing the higher comorbidity burden and more complex cases associated with revision THA to achieve optimal outcomes. Methods to control infection risk, blood loss, and wound healing can be particularly valuable in this population. In this chapter, we will explore various perioperative medical interventions/optimization techniques and their application in revision THA.
