Custom Triflange
摘要
Acetabular revision surgeries are becoming more common. Some acetabular defects are not adequately treated with standard revision options. With current technology, a custom implant may be manufactured to the patient’s specific anatomical needs. Custom triflange acetabular components are a reconstructive option for arthroplasty surgeons as these implants can bridge large acetabular defects and pelvic discontinuity. The surgeon is directly involved with the design of the implant including the direction of the flanges, trajectory of screws, and even additional coating to enhance osseointegration. Though a relatively newer technology, early, midterm, and long-term survivorship has been observed. Custom triflange acetabular components are a useful tool in the arthroplasty surgeon’s armamentarium.
