This section is shorter than the others but that is not to devalue its importance. Mentors are such an important part of academic life as they help less experienced faculty to grow professionally, offering advice and more importantly confirming what CEs need to hear about their plans/goals. Mentors can be tapped locally or nationally and usually are in the same field as the mentee, although two of my main mentors were Ph.Ds in education.
