Very few faculty in the past have received any formal education during their medical school and residency training about the administrative functions that are required to meet the mission statement of the institution, department or medical school. That seems to be changing with time as faculty are recognizing the importance of addressing what knowledge, skills and attitudes are integral to carrying out these non-patient responsibilities.
