Generative artificial intelligence has a positive influence on the performance of project teams. Yet, the performance measures for its collaboration with humans in project teams are not established. Thus, this study aims to identify the key performance indicators for project teams in the scenario of human-artificial intelligence collaboration from the perspective of experts in the field of artificial intelligence. By conducting semi-structured interviews with 8 experts across different regions, the study establishes key performance indicators for project teams when incorporating generative artificial intelligence as a team member in the domain of project management within the service industry. Two parameters and their dimensions are identified: (1) efficiency; determined by time, cost, and resources, and (2) effectiveness; determined by accuracy, quality, and clarity. This study enriches our understanding of generative artificial intelligence and highlights its importance in project management through the collaboration between humans and generative artificial intelligence in project teams to achieve project success.
