The book ends with a reflective look at the field of interpretive policy analysis. Having established its legitimacy, the field can now turn its powers of interpretation on itself. In this chapter, the authors reflect on the need to increase the relevance and role of interpretive analysis in real-world policymaking. There is need to critique hegemonies within the field and open it up to other voices. And it is crucial that its practitioners demonstrate what it means to seek deeper knowledge and understanding of policy in a fractured, post-truth world.
