Large numbers of indicators designed and validated for different sustainability applications are available. However, most indicators are context and situation-dependent based on traditional approaches with or without applying the theory of uncertainty, such as fuzzy, gray, rough, and neutrosophic (degree of dependency or independence) theories. In addition, there are no universal indicators suitable for all applications. Therefore, selecting methods from the existing pool or developing new methods is complex, and the choice of the method depends largely on the preferences of the decision-makers and analysts. Since the choice of method may significantly influence the decision-making process, it is essential to use appropriate indicators. Generally, the most common selection method is the analytical hierarchy process (AHP), which is either crisp or fuzzy integrated. This chapter describes the TOPSIS-AHP, AHP-PROMETHEE, and GRAY-AHP hybrid methods to assess sustainability. Selecting the location of terminals and logistics centers from the aspect of sustainability is the most critical problem that is solved by multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods in transport and logistics. The methods discussed in this chapter, especially the fuzzy hybrids, are applicable in the energy field, especially when choosing energy resources.
