menschvergessenheit (Forgetfulness of Human Being)
摘要
In the everyday practice of anthropology, there is an obliviousness to underlying conceptions of the human. Yet these conceptions are the hidden grounds against which anthropological objects of study dialectically come into being. These grounding “anthropo-logies” are transcendental, in a dual sense: they constitute the condition of possibility for experiencing these foregrounded objects as such; and they condition the possibility of these objects as being perspectivised towards, and entangled with, a specific conception of the human as caring about these entities. Failing to consciously reflect upon and justify a specific take on “the anthropological difference” between concrete objects and underlying transcendental anthropo-logies constitutes menschvergessenheit: forgetfulness of human being.
