How to Optimize Teaching by Using Observation and Feedback
摘要
Feedback is necessary to improve teaching performance. Anyone who has given a talk knows that self-assessment alone rarely helps improve future performance. Structured, objective, and immediate feedback is essential to improve teaching. Applying a validated clinical teaching framework to an observation tool allows for peers to objectively offer feedback in any clinical teaching scenario. This chapter guides both the teacher and the observer through the necessary steps to utilize this framework for high-yield feedback and ultimately to grow as a teacher.
