The COVID-19 pandemic transformed medical education, as learning sessions are now comprised of in-person, virtual (asynchronous and synchronous), and hybrid (in-person plus virtual) formats. Although virtual teaching occurred prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, this format is now commonplace and presents both benefits and challenges. It is essential that educators who use this format learn to do so effectively. In this chapter, we will provide techniques for educators to (1) prepare for a virtual synchronous teaching session, (2) create a community of learning online, and (3) encourage learner participation in the virtual classroom.

摘要
