How to Teach in Volunteer Clinics: Brief Encounters with Learners and Patients at Risk for Health Inequities
摘要
Precepting in volunteer clinics is an opportunity to serve patients in need and teach learners motivated by social justice. This chapter describes techniques for teaching effectively in this clinical setting when contact with patients and learners is brief and discontinuous. We discuss the importance of facilitating reflection and the development of structural competence among learners, emphasizing the role of the student as a healthcare navigator.
