The overarching purpose of this handbook is to provide clinical teachers—practicing physicians and other healthcare providers who teach students and residents—with a concise and practical “just in time” resource to strengthen teaching skills. It is primarily designed to guide both new and seasoned attendings who have a few minutes to flip through a book on the way to the operating room or hospital ward. This Second Edition provides increased support to faculty developers working to strengthen the clinical teaching skills of a larger group. The chapters are short, to the point, and provide specific instruction for effective teaching.
