This chapter focuses on ecosyndemics in light of the planetary health perspective. Further, it explores known and potential ecosyndemics, pathways of environmental and other disease interaction, and health impacts of ecosyndemics across disparate populations. The chapter reviews the development of the syndemic concept and its engagement with environmental drivers of health, leading to the development of the ecosyndemic framework. The features of several ecosyndemics are examined in some detail revealing the complex nature of these biosocial health phenomena.
