This chapter outlines the study methodology for the Image-Based Abuse and Bystander Intervention Study, which is the first mixed methods study to focus specifically on bystander intervention in image-based sexual abuse contexts. This chapter presents the research questions, information about the sample, and how participants were recruited, as well as details on the survey and focus group questions. The study involved posing a series of hypothetical scenarios—outlined in this chapter—on image-based sexual abuse to participants and asking whether and how they might intervene.
