Healthcare facilities play a critical role in providing care in certain level of quality and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients, staff, and the environment. However, the lack of standardized and comprehensive tools to assess and evaluate Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) practices and social performance hsecnders effective monitoring and improvement in these crucial areas. This paper aims to address this problem by proposing the development of a simple and straight-forward tool specifically tailored to assess HSE and social performance in healthcare facilities. The proposed tool integrates various metrics and indicators to evaluate the HSE practices and social performance of healthcare facilities in the form of a checklist. It encompasses different components, including employee health, environmental management, facility maintenance, and infrastructure, legal and managerial compliance, patient safety, safety and social responsibility. The proposed tool enables healthcare facilities to conduct regular self-assessments, identify areas for improvement, and track progress over time. This tool provides possibility to benchmark HSE and social performance against industry standards and identify best practices. Furthermore, the tool facilitates data-driven decision-making, enabling healthcare facility administrators and stakeholders to effectively allocate resources and prioritize initiatives that have the greatest impact on HSE and social performance. The development and implementation of a standardized tool for assessing HSE and social performance not only contributes to improving the quality of care and patient outcomes, but also promotes a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within healthcare organisations.
