The Integration of Ecomechatronics and Industry 4.0 Towards Sustainable Manufacturing
摘要
This chapter explores the integration of ecomechatronics and Industry 4.0, aiming to provide a comprehensive overview of the synergies between these two fields towards sustainability. Ecomechatronics represents a multidisciplinary approach that combines principles of mechanical engineering, electronics, computer science, and environmental science to design and develop sustainable and environmentally friendly mechatronic systems. Industry 4.0, on the other hand, embodies the fourth industrial revolution characterised by the integration of digital technologies into manufacturing processes. The fusion of these two domains has the potential to revolutionise the way we design, produce, and utilise mechatronic systems, fostering sustainability and efficiency. As a case study, a smart plastic injection moulding machine will be designed that demonstrates a successful integration of Industry 4.0 technologies and ecomechatronics towards the environmental and economic benefits achieved through the integration of smart technologies.
