The gestational trophoblastic disease is a rare clinical entity encompassing molar pregnancy, choriocarcinoma, invasive molar pregnancy, and intermediate trophoblastic tumors. Prompt diagnosis and appropriate management are critical for achieving high rates of regression and cure. A disease that is refractory to initial treatment can lead to complex clinical scenarios. The role of surgery and immunotherapy is expanding for this population and requires tertiary referral to centers of excellence.
