Artificial Intelligence Regarding Art Students’ Visual Online Social Media Usage
摘要
Since November 2022, the rapid development of online generative artificial intelligence (GAI) tools such as ChatGPT or the newly released Bard by Google has provoked debates regarding ways in which artificial intelligence (AI) affects student learning and creative growth. Our research was conducted prior to GAI mainstream exposure, yet it raises important issues that have arisen and continue to arise with increasing AI student and teacher usage. Consequently, we examined interviewees’ concerns about artificial intelligence (AI) and how it affects their visual social media practices. In this chapter, the authors consider how emerging online artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms influence or alter students’ creative processes using online visual social media. It was found that high school students were not yet concerned with AI; however, some university learners grapple with its influences regarding the posting of their digital artworks. Issues that will be discussed include the power of AI particularly pertaining to algorithms and its effects; privacy/copyright concerns; and AI control online in light of production, dissemination, and exposure of university students’ artworks using visual social media.
