Despite numerous efforts to establish a unified definition, significant discrepancies persist between researchers and practitioners. The chapter further explores the responsibilities that fall under the UX umbrella and identifies key gaps between academic and industry perspectives. The chapter discusses the tension between academia’s need to establish UX as a distinct discipline and the industry’s approach of integrating UX into practical workflows.
