To mitigate these risks, it is essential to consider the digital determinants of health in the design and deployment of AI systems. This involves ensuring access to digital tools, enhancing digital literacy, and engaging marginalized communities in the development process. Healthcare professionals have a crucial role in advocating for inclusive AI design, educating patients about digital literacy, and contributing to research that addresses the impact of AI on digitally excluded populations.
