This research is dedicated to a pressing issue of today – the study of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Was examined the labor market in the IT sector to determine which competencies are most crucial for programmer specialists. Based on an analysis of scientific sources, opinions of leading IT experts, and statistical studies of IT companies, the introduction of the educational component Machine Learning into the studying process of the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy according to the educational standard and the educational-professional program Computer Science. Were identified principles of the interdisciplinary approach, and based on these principles was developed a model of the Machine Learning course. Relying on interdisciplinary connections and principles, the content of the course, methods, and pedagogical technologies were developed. According to the results of the theoretical study, the authors defined the goal of the experimental work – to test the quality of the proposed Machine Learning course model. The authors formulated the main criteria by which the quality of the developed course model will be assessed in the next stage of the research.
