Just over 70 years ago, the goitered gazelle was the most numerous antelope in Central Asia and the Middle East. But as soon as people received powerful firearms and off-road vehicles, intensive extermination of these gazelles began everywhere without any need or restrictions. In addition, humans began to displace goitered gazelles, first from semideserts, and then from deserts, driving thousands of herds of their cattle to all available pastures and taking away all available watering places from the wild animals. Cattle not only overgrazed all pastures, but also transmitted their diseases to gazelles. All these thoughtless actions led to the complete disappearance of this gazelle in large areas and a reduction in their number to several tens of thousands totally. The largest population of the goitered gazelle remains in Mongolia, but even there, in the coming years, they plan to turn the country into solid mines and destroy the last remnants of this species.
