In conclusion the author stresses the inevitability of the passage of time. While presenting the competing representations of such a passage the figure of the cycle is preferable. However, one must not forget that the cycle may not only accidentally be broken due to various cracks. It is then possible that one’s system of attitudes—culture—may allow one to arrange a new cycle to take new directions along one’s journey.
