Epilogue
摘要
As all good stories must, that of the Princess Theatre came to an end. In some ways, the ending was abrupt: Oh Lady, Lady!! closed on 10 August 1918—after having transferred to the Casino Theatre—and the Trio of Musical Fame simply did not write another show for the Princess Theatre. In other ways, the breakup of the Princess’ triumvirate was a gradual process that began while Oh, Boy! was running, and arguably did not conclude until many months after Oh, Lady! Lady!!’s closing. No single event sealed the creative team’s fate; with professional lives proceeding in divergent directions, the three men reached a point at which it no longer made sense to continue in the same modus operandi.
