The war in Ukraine and Georgia’s undemocratic actions at home—including the failure to hold free and fair elections—have tested the partnership’s strength. The storm is likely to be weathered if Georgia chooses democracy over autocracy and re-commits to its close ties with the U.S. and the EU.
