The authors identify the primary challenges of digital technologies, particularly Internet technologies, in educational activities. They also explain why implementing green IT (environmentally friendly information technologies) is difficult within the educational programs of higher education institutions. Researchers agree that today’s education is inseparable from environmental challenges, which are becoming increasingly global and complex. These challenges require a more careful selection of training infrastructure. The Internet of Things (IoT) can offer several benefits to the educational process, including improved communication, increased efficiency, and personalization of learning. Despite the positive influence indicated in the work, it is potentially possible to identify unfavorable consequences based on unwanted emissions (carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases), which significantly affect climate change. The authors judge that when making decisions in the field of a given scientific problem, educational organizations must certainly carry out a set of actions regarding the implementation and use of improved energy-efficient or renewable energy sources, achieving the priority goal of increasing digital culture. To this end, the use of one of the most popular IoT technologies will help improve the efficiency and quality of communications with international, scientific, and educational companies as part of solving priority development tasks and minimizing the climate. Thus, this research presents the results of a survey of scientific and pedagogical workers and students of one of the most significant pedagogical universities at the present stage.

摘要
