Opportunities for Mass Open Online Courses in Vocational Educational Media Space
摘要
The research aims to evaluate the potential of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in implementing vocational education. It seeks to showcase the experience of integrating online courses and the resulting changes in the vocational educational media space. The adoption of advanced technologies fosters continuous learning and widens the audience for educational services. As part of this research, an online course titled “Gamification in Education” was developed and deployed on the Coursera platform in 2019. The primary objective during implementation was to analyze key features of online courses in vocational education. Targeting students from higher educational institutions, the course was conducted with three distinct groups and evaluated. The assessment conducted before and after course implementation highlighted enhancements in active learning, feedback mechanisms, self-paced learning, and gamification techniques. Massive open online courses provide educational avenues for students to watch videos, participate in forums, engage in discussions, exchange opinions, interact with peers, seek clarifications, and review course content within the educational media discourse. Student feedback analysis underscores their enthusiasm for mastering the online curriculum. A promising trajectory for online course advancement involves collaborating with relevant partners to align with cutting-edge global trends in methodological and technical online course implementation, incorporating electronic linguistic, psychological, and pedagogical technologies.
