Chapter 6 considers alternative approaches that complement and merge with the behavioural sciences. Both collaboration and co-design are seen as ubiquitous in the public service, but each has a different approach to knowledge. Collaboration is present in the behavioural insights practices through the design and implementation of projects. Co-design has emerged alongside behavioural insights, and the two are merging in policy making. Each, however, has conflicting approaches to governance and knowledge.
