Trusting the Process: Risky Devising and Mapping Radical Change
摘要
Exploring the impact of risky devising in theatre training, this chapter examines the work of Generation Arts in supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to access professional actor training. Through case studies and reflections on the company’s unique devising model, the chapter considers the relationship between artistic risk-taking, transformation, and long-term change. It questions how radical change is fostered and whether its effects can be witnessed within project timelines. The chapter concludes by reflecting on the broader implications of this work for widening participation in drama training and shifting industry practices toward greater inclusivity.
