This chapter explores the world of intentional cohousing in Italy, delving into experiences that involve intentional housing communities. Drawing from a census administered by the Italian Cohousing Network and data from a questionnaire sent to all the cohousing projects adhering to the Network, it first highlights general features of these intentional housing communities. Secondly, it presents key challenges and potentialities of cohousing projects through life story fragments and biographical material of cohousers living in various Italian cohousing establishments. Understanding these dynamics is key for any public policy aiming to facilitate, support or launch experiences of this type.
