Particularly in reference to phenomenological sociology and social constructivism, approaches involving social constructivist landscape theory examine how social construction processes of ‘landscape’ take place in relation to society, the individual, and physical space. The central insight is that the world opens to the individual only in a pre-interpreted way. Hence, landscape arises based on societal interpretation and evaluation patterns individually based on the synthesis of material and virtual objects. Accordingly, social constructivist landscape theory deals with ‘questions of how’ (such as ‘How is the recursive relationship of individual and societal landscape constructed?’) and not ‘questions of what’ (e.g., ‘What is landscape?’).

摘要
