Landscape as a social construct is socially and individually charged with specific meanings. In this context, wilderness is seen as a symbolic counter-world to the cultural order. In contrast to everyday and individual constructions, two clearly different concepts of wilderness can be distinguished in the scientific context: on the one hand, the wilderness concept of nature conservation; on the other hand, the social constructivist approach.
