Green AI, Balancing Technology & Ecology
摘要
The Gaia Hypothesis teaches us that life on Earth is interconnected, with every action having ripple effects on the entire system. In the same way, AI systems must operate with an ecological mindset, recognizing that technological progress cannot be separated from its environmental impacts. In ecology, ecosystems are defined by energy flows and nutrient cycles that sustain life and maintain balance. Similarly, AI systems can be viewed as part of a larger ecosystem of intelligence, where energy consumption, computational efficiency, and material use must follow the principles of sustainability. To move towards a truly sustainable AI, we must integrate the wisdom of nature, ensuring that technological advancement serves not only humanity but also the environment.
