Stakeholder Concerns in Sustainable Machining Using Social Network Analysis

This study seeks to analyze the factors influencing sustainable machining and their interplays with stakeholdersStakeholder through social network analysisSocial network analysis (SNA). Utilizing SNA, this study evaluates the significance of each sustainable machining factor within the network by employing node network metrics such as in-degree, out-degree, and betweenness centrality, as well as network-level metrics like density and centralization. The findings reveal that “machining cost” emerges as a pivotal sustainability factor, exhibiting high in-degree, betweenness, and closeness centralities across the three delineated networks. Conversely, “Law and regulation” is identified as having the most extensive out-degree centrality, exerting considerable influence on a range of other machining factors. The insights gleaned from this analysis offer valuable guidance for manufacturers, researchers, and academics, providing a foundation for further exploration into the dynamics of sustainability and the factors that shape it.
