In this chapter we use tools previously introduced to investigate the stability of switched linear systems in dimension three. We establish a Poincaré-Bendixson result for extremal trajectories under a generic condition on the set of modes, and in the corank one case with two modes we perform a detailed analysis of the switching behaviour of extremal trajectories.
