Elimination of Historical Environmental Damage During the Comprehensive Development of Brown Fields and Other Urban Areas

The paper examines the practice of realization of projects for the comprehensive development of industrial zones and the reorganization of brownfields at the stage of developing plans to eliminate historical environmental damage and restore disturbed lands. The analysis of the content and quality of existing regulatory instruments for regulating the choice of reclamation technologies, assessing their economic and environmental effectiveness, and evaluating alternative options is made. Proposals have been developed to make changes to state standards, information technology reference books on best available technologies, construction legislation to ensure to create better conditions for citizens, environmental restoration in residential areas of urban and rural settlements.
