Enhancing the Satellite Communication for Future Applications: Advancements in Is-OWC

Satellite communication has been an effective means of enabling high-speed data transport for the last fifty years. That being said, the improvement in satellite communication has been less noticeable since other IT and telecommunications industries have advanced at the same time as these successes. To serve telecommunications, tracking, civil and military surveillance, and space exploration projects, optical space satellite communication has evolved as a dependable and affordable alternative to Radio Frequency (RF) communication. Due to their size and capabilities limitations, mass-produced tiny satellites seem interesting for water resource management, research, mapping gravity, and wildfire monitoring. Multi-satellite systems have the potential to improve research on the near-Earth environment and increase the affordability and effectiveness of space travel. Because it offers high bandwidth, speed, immunity to electromagnetic interference (EMI), minimal transmission losses, and security, Inter-Satellite Optical Wireless Communication (Is-OWC) is therefore essential to the building of satellites and serves as a foundation for future radio frequency systems.
