This article examines the question of citizenship education during childhood—this first period of life, marked by education. Firstly, it apprehends childhood as a time which should be free of the constraints and responsibilities that come with citizenship, in order to develop the internalization of the sense of limits. Then, it proposes to promote experimentation—that is to say, to create situations in order to make the child experience real-world situations that solicit their sense of the social at the foundation of societies. Finally, responsibility towards oneself and others will be the objective of the educational process.
