Nanotechnology in Infrastructure of Urban Water: Enhancing Resilience and Efficiency
摘要
This chapter presents a comprehensive analysis of the burgeoning field of nanotechnology in urban water systems, underscored by an extensive review of 907 research records. Through meticulous examination, this study identifies critical gaps in the current body of knowledge, referencing 9 observational and 11 intervention studies to ground our analysis. The methodological rigor of our review process is highlighted by achieving a Cohen’s kappa value of 0.76, indicating a strong consensus among reviewers and adhering to the standards set forth by Cohen, J. T. (1940). Growth and development of the dental arches in children. The Journal of the American Dental Association, 27(1), 152–157. https://doi.org/10.14219/jada.archive.1940.0001. Our findings underscore the transformative potential of nanotechnology in addressing pressing challenges in urban water management, including pollution mitigation, energy efficiency, and infrastructure resilience. However, this study also pinpoints the need for further research in areas such as material safety and environmental impact, cost-effectiveness, scalability and integration, regulatory frameworks, and public acceptance. This chapter not only charts a path for future research but also emphasizes the critical role of nanotechnology in advancing sustainable water management practices, calling for a multidisciplinary approach to unlock its full potential.
