We need citizens and leaders who are knowledgeable and skilled at the challenges of daily life, the value-institutions that structure society, and the policy process to realize human dignity in healthy environments. Our present human and environmental situation requires that we possess the capacity and agency to address individual, institutional, and process challenges. The skill to analyze value-institutions and policy processes is key to improvements. High self-awareness is also important along with essential knowledge and broad skills. Individuals face many personal challenges. A sample of these is offered with how to understand them and overcome limitations. Ultimately, our dignity and environmental goals can only be approximated if we attend successfully to these considerations.
