The Interfaces of Neuropsychology, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness in the Treatment of Substance Use Disorders
摘要
This chapter examines the integration of neuropsychology, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness in treating substance use disorders. Neuropsychology contributes by identifying cognitive impairments linked to substance use and guiding interventions to improve cognitive functions essential for recovery. Motivational interviewing enhances intrinsic motivation and facilitates collaborative goal-setting, pivotal for sustained behavior change across different stages of substance use. Mindfulness complements these approaches by fostering attentional control, emotional regulation, and resilience, thereby enhancing overall treatment outcomes. Together, these integrated approaches offer promising strategies for addressing the complex challenges of substance use disorders effectively.
