Neutron capture therapy will bring marked benefits to people when used safely. However, the potential radiation risk to patients, but especially staff members involved in performing the therapy, and the public must be assessed and controlled. This chapter discusses how this is facilitated through a system of radiation protection and what kind of challenges have to be handled at an accelerator-based BNCT facility in a hospital.
