Prescribing and Reporting in BNCT
摘要
The appearance of accelerator-based neutron sources for BNCT in hospitals will likely lead to an increase of such facilities around the world. To compare and repeat results, an internationally accepted reporting system will become mandatory. Up to now, individual models for prescribing have been developed on a local level for single sites. The efforts to develop an international standard for reporting dose in BNCT were up to now not satisfactory. A reporting system is proposed here that replaces the reporting of the absorbed dose with the reporting of the neutron fluence and the boron concentration in the blood. These are the most important input parameters for any dose prescription model, making the reporting independent of center-specific weighting values and the Monte Carlo code used for the calculations.
